Bette Blue Brownlee
Bette Blue Brownlee is an educator and an actor. An East Coast transplant, she has resided in San Diego, California for over 40 years. She is the mother of Bike City company member, Jordan Brownlee. High school choir and childhood dance classes provided hours of enjoyment and she’s pleased to jump back in to performing. BCTC provided Bette’s introduction to theatre where she discovered she enjoyed rehearsing lines with Jordan. She made her voice acting debut in the radio play, Andy Pitchem. Bette is employed as an elementary school library media tech wherein read a-louds and book talks offer endless opportunities to teach and share the joys of reading with her students.
Jordan Brownlee
Jordan Brownlee was born and raised in San Diego, California, and has loved making people laugh for as long as he can remember. While attending a Bike City open mic in 2018, he was randomly selected to perform, and has maintained a relationship with the company ever since. He is an award-winning impressionist who has lent his voice to several short films, award ceremonies and The Empty Iris on Amazon Prime Video. Jordan has trained with the Muppet performers of Sesame Street, and has since trained other Bike City actors to operate puppets. He made his Bike City acting debut in Light The Way: a Bike Safety Musical, and has since acted and written for various Bike City sketches and radio plays. Jordan graduated from UC Davis with a BA in Cinema and Digital Media.
Ernesto Bustos
Ernesto Bustos is glad to be back with Bike City Theatre. A local actor, Mr. Bustos has worked with Bike City on Westeros Side Story and Rape of the Sabine Women. Previous credits include Romeo and Juliet with Sacramento Theatre Company and Midsummer Night's Dream with Davis Shakespeare Ensemble. Ernesto was also lucky to be cut out of a scene from HBO's "Looking."
Nate Challis
Nate Challis is an Actor, Loan Officer, and aspiring adult. He recently graduated from UC Davis with a B.A. in Communication, as well as close to $100,000 in student debt. Nate is always excited to work with the wonderful people at BCTC. You may have seen him in Failure: A Love Story, or Small Steps. Outside of BCTC, Nate was featured as John Carter in Ranked: A New Musical which is currently streaming on Spotify and Apple Music. In his free time, Nate enjoys long runs, petting puppies, and voting out corrupt politicians.
Sarah Elizabeth
Sarah is excited to be working with Bike City Theatre Company once again, while also beginning her journey into the wonderful world of voiceover acting. She is a Bay Area actress and has also worked with the Davis Shakespeare Festival, the San Francisco Shakespeare Festival, Ross Valley Players and others. She is currently studying voiceover techniques and styles with Voice One in San Francisco.
John Haine
John Haine has been singing and acting for many years. Since coming to Davis, he has appeared with Bike City Theatre Company, Woodland Opera House, Davis Shakespeare Ensemble, Davis Musical Theatre Company, Sutter Street Theatre, and Chautauqua Playhouse. Recent favorite roles include Reverend Crisparkle in The Mystery of Edwin Drood, Sweeney Todd, and Henry Higgins in My Fair Lady. John has a B.A. in Theatre Arts from the University of Minnesota, but after touring the prairie he opted for a steady paycheck and became a lawyer. John now edits books on employee benefit law for Thomson Reuters.
Patty Shade
Patty Shade performed in many music and theater productions throughout the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul over the 30 years that she lived there. Locally, she performed with the Davis Shakespeare Ensemble for two seasons. She also sings with the Davis Chorale. Patty is currently a Lower Elementary Teacher at Bergamo Montessori School in Sacramento. She is also a book narrator for Audible.com.
