Megan Abbanat
Megan is an undergraduate student at New York University, studying for a B.S in Educational Theatre with hopes of double credentialing in English and Drama Education after undergraduate. Through NYU she works with America Reads as a classroom tutor in NYC public schools, and sat as Secretary on the executive board of Uproar Theatre Corps: a student theatre club devoted to giving members experience with all aspects of theatre production and producing new works.
As a Davis native she had the opportunity to perform with Acme Theatre Company where she found a love of drama education while serving as the Education Program Coordinator for three years, in addition to a love of acting and stage managing which she has carried on at NYU and with BCTC.
She also attended the California State Summer School for the Arts for music in 2018, and in her time in Davis sang with the DSHS Jazz Choir and Madrigal Singers, traveling to Italy to compete and sing at The Vatican with the Madrigals in July 2019. After joining BCTC in 2020 Megan has had the pleasure to help put on the Zombie Bike Ride and Small Steps in collaboration with UC Davis, and can’t wait to see where the future takes her!
Jade Chew
Jade Chew is a lighting and scenic designer. Heavily resistant to acting, for the past four years she has enjoyed designing sets for the Davis High School Theatre Department, as well as lighting for ACME Theatre Company. Some of Jade’s favorite past works include Ranked: A New Musical, Peter and the Starcatcher, and The Laramie Project. She is currently an undergraduate student at NYU, double majoring in Theatre Production and Design, and Physics.
Yooni Chang
Yooni is pursuing an Animal Science Degree with a Music Minor. She’s played music for the majority of her life, so she is excited to see where she’ll go with sound design. From a very young age, she started her very first piano lesson and learned the basics of music such as reading sheet music. After a few years, she picked up the flute and later on competed at local competitions such as Horsfall Flute competition, Solo and Ensemble, and even went to Washington DC to compete with her high school band. Ever since high school, she always wanted to get involved with theatre, but never had the chance to do so. With this new opportunity she plans on doing something new and making the best of it.
Percival Mcilraith
Percival McIlraith (they/them) is currently studying Biology at Sacramento City College in hopes of going on to become a dentist. They are an Acme alum and love everything about theater. They have done many shows with Acme such as The White Rose and Peter and the Starcatcher. In theater they have worked on almost everything except lights but that’s because they are too worried about dropping the lights.
Wendy Lee
Wendy Lee (she/her/hers) is a senior at UC Davis, double majoring in Managerial Economics and Communication, and pursuing a marketing career. An international student from Malaysia, she began studying at De Anza College in Cupertino in Winter 2019 and transferred to UC Davis in Fall 2020. Outside of BCTC, Wendy is also a proud member of Circle K International (CKI), the largest collegiate service organization in the world, and the Economics and Business Student Association (EBSA), one of the largest undergraduate business organizations at UC Davis.
She's always been drawn to the performing arts, having learned piano for at least 10 years and joining the school choir for 8 years. Although she lacks any experience in theatre, she's extremely grateful for the opportunity to explore the dynamic, exciting industry.
